The Midway lights are alway an attraction! They are both fun and challenging to photograph.
This weekend I began working at what is now my 11th year at the Arkansas State Fair. It's hard to believe that I have already done this for 10 years. My primary function is as the media center photographer which simply means I take photos of the winners in the Arts & Crafts competitions as well as the Junior Livestock Show but also in the Fair Queen Pageant.  Another, more exciting, role is working for the advertising agency that is in charge of all the advertising and PR for the Fair. I have enjoyed an "all access" pass to the midway carnival, the livestock judging, talent shows, cooking competitions and concerts. Concert meet & greets backstage with bands like Charlie Daniels, Clint Black, REO Speedwagon and many many more! Over the years I've become a fan of fair foods and helicopter rides! The people behind the scenes of the Fair are great folks too! Several great friendships and colleagues have come from my years at the State Fair. The weather is cooling off, the new carnival company is changing the face of the "stereotypical carnival" experience with a much more professional carnival staff and several new and exciting rides! Bring your family and come on out to "The Natural State of Fun" which is the 2017 Arkansas State Fair! Be sure to smile because you never know if my camera is going to be pointed your direction! *CLICK*
